Interdistrict Transfer Requests for 2015-2016/Solicitudes de Permiso de Asistencia Interdistrital para el 2015-2016
Requests to transfer students to schools located inside or outside the OUSD zoned boundaries will be accepted beginning January 5, 2015. Interdistrict application forms are available at the OUSD Education Support Services Office, 2080 Mission Ave. The office is open 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. ParentLink App Available for OUSD Parents
A new ParentLink App for smart phones is now available to OUSD parents. The App aims to provide and improve all avenues of district and student communication and information for parents. Watch the video below.
ParentLink’s easy-to-use App provides emergency messaging, custom messages and language translation. Parents can now get OUSD information when they need it.
OUSD Parents using the district’s Aeries portal will be receiving an e-mail with instructions on how to download the App. For more information, please see the district website at http://www.oside.us/parentlink.

Common Core Parent Information
California is one of 45 states nationwide to adopt the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts and mathematics. This shift in teaching has been characterized by some as “the most significant change to classroom instruction since 1998,” when California first adopted its own academic standards. The OUSD Student Wellness Policy focuses on nutrition and physical education.
Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.

OUSD Policy on Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination
The local educational agency (LEA) adopted a policy that prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
