Libby Helps In Search For a Cure!Libby Elementary School was an instrumental part of the success of the 2011 Olive Garden Pasta for Pennies program, a School & Youth program of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Libby raised $2,647.91!!! These funds will improve the quality of life of local cancer patients and their families and have brought The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society closer to finding a cure for blood cancer! Thank you to all students, staff, parents, and community members that made this project a success. Libby Rocks!!
Future Engineers!!This week our 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade students have been taking part in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based activities. Our students were very excited to participate in this hands on experience where they were applying all of their knowledge and developing their 21st century skills. Using unique LEGO kits, our 3rd grade engineers worked in pairs to build simple machines to create a music maker. Our 4th grade mechanical engineers built race cars and tested out their skills by racing them. Our 5th grade design engineers built and modified motorized robots that battled it out in the arena. Our students have been applying basic engineering principles while using their critical thinking and collaboration skills. Make sure to ask your students how they brought their LEGOs to life! Test Time.....Part 2!
Just like the CST students should get plenty of rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and show up on time each day. This is a very exciting time and a chance for our students to demonstrate all of their progress and growth this year.
